Mieux Manger au Ciné (“eat better at the cinema”), a French organisation that promotes better eating offer in cultural venues, joins forces with Open Food Facts
Original French article here: Alimentation Générale
“Since 2019, the Mieux Manger au Ciné organisation has been building a gourmet relationship between cultural venues and food throughout France. Through its platform, it offers a range of healthy products, less fatty, less salty, less sweet, but just as comforting, for cinemas and cultural venues.
Initiated by the Haut et Court production company, in collaboration with Alimentation Générale media, Mieux Manger au Ciné aims to link culture and food and to innovate, notably through a competition to create new products, the winners of which we revealed here in 2022 and those of 2023. The 2024 edition is in preparation…
Today, Mieux Manger au Ciné has joined forces with Open Food Facts, the Wikipedia of food, which lists over 3 million products collected by 20,000 contributors in 180 countries. This database informs the general public, assists scientific research with the collected data and supports public policies for healthier, more sustainable food.
Now a partner of Mieux Manger au Ciné, Open Food Facts will help to improve product quality and increase food transparency in cinemas and cultural venues”.
“The current food offer in cultural venues is far from the healthiest 🧐. We support the “Mieux Manger au Ciné” initiative because it seeks to offer healthier alternatives, without making concessions on taste. We invite the brands taking part in this effort to add their products to our database to better inform consumers.”
