Keeping food knowledge open: Join our 2025 donation campaign

Since 2012, Open Food Facts has been on a mission: making food information accessible, free, and open to all.
This year, each time you scanned a product, reused our data, or explored our database, you benefited from a non-profit project built by hundreds of thousands of volunteers, supported by a small, dedicated team.
Together, this community has made it possible to:
- Decode food labels in one scan
- Help people make healthier and more sustainable food choices
- Support public health research
- Push for greater transparency in the food industry
- Develop databases for non food products (with Open Beauty Facts, Open Pet Food Facts, and Open Products Facts!)
Why your support matters
💡 Everything we produce, from data to software, is a freely reusable common good. All of this is free and always will be.
But keeping Open Food Facts alive takes more than goodwill. Servers, maintenance, community support, data engineering, partnerships, representation and new features… all require time and funding.
That’s why we’re launching our 2025-2026 donation campaign, and we’re inviting you to be part of it.
Whether it’s €5, €20 or a recurring donation, your contribution helps us keep Open Food Facts alive, independent, and growing. As for regular monthly donations, they provide stability and long-term support.
We know not everyone can give, but if you can, thank you from the bottom of our heart for making this possible.
A community at the heart of it all
Open Food Facts is more than a database, it’s a living community. This spirit was on full display at Open Food Facts Days 2025, held in Paris a few weeks ago.
Contributors from across Europe came together to build this joint and open project and to imagine together its future!
