Green-Score for recipes !

Green-Score for recipes !

Accelerating the ecological transition through your diet 🥗

As you already know, Open Food Facts calculates and displays the Green-Score (the environmental footprint) for food products in its open database.

But what if you want to know the Green-Score of a recipe prepared at home, in a restaurant or in a canteen?

Thanks to support from ADEME (The French Agency for Ecological Transition) as part of a ‘Call for Commons’ initiative to accelerate the ecological transition, Open Food Facts is embarking on the development of a tool to assess the environmental impact of recipes – which will be free and open source!

Are you a head chef, canteen manager, dietitian or local authority representative looking to reduce the environmental impact of your dishes without spending hours on it? 🌍🍽️

At present, assessing a recipe’s environmental footprint is often a real struggle: it requires complex expertise and takes a great deal of time. That’s why Open Food Facts is launching the development of an open-source calculator to instantly generate recipes’ Green-Scores! 🚀

We want this tool to be perfectly tailored to your needs. That’s why we’ve launched a community of practice to co-develop it with YOU.

This collaborative development takes the form of three online workshops:

💡 Why be a part of it ?

This workshop marks a new stage in our collaborative development: your unique perspective is invaluable in helping us create a tool that is relevant, transparent and accessible to all those involved in the catering and gastronomy sectors.
