
Open Prices challenge 3 : sunscreen, ice cream and sorbets

The summer has arrived and so did the new Open Prices community challenge! As always, we’re looking for contributors to collect prices on a specific type of products. With the shining sun and blistering heat in parts of the world, the topics are: sunscreens, ice creams & sorbets! Check out the challenge page for more info.
When?
All summer! Starting from 2025/07/01, ending 2025/08/31
How?
- Snap Pics — visit 1 or more grocery stores, take photos of shelf labels for sunscreens, ice creams & sorbets
- Upload & Share — visit the Challenge Page and upload your photos (proofs) + date + store name
- Optional — help Validate by reviewing AI-generated from your photos or other volunteers’ uploads
- Optional — Contribute missing products to Open Products Facts

You can also use the Open Food Facts App to contribute:
- Scan a product
- Scroll to the bottom panel, “Prices”
- Tap on “Add a price”
- Add a proof (photo of the shelf label) and follow the form.

- To support Open Data: advance the movement for accessible and reusable data
- To empower Citizens: help inform & empower citizens by making prices transparent
- To advance Science: speed up research at the intersection of food affordability, access, nutrition, health and sustainability
- To gather feedback and help on Open Prices: this is the first challenge including non-food products!
